Refund & Cancellation Policy

General Policy

SelamPass is a marketplace that connects you with event organizers and experience providers in the DMV area. Because each event is independently organized, cancellation and refund terms may vary from one listing to another. SelamPass facilitates the booking and payment process but does not independently set refund policies for individual events.

Per-Event Cancellation Policies

Each event listing on SelamPass displays its own cancellation terms, set by the organizer. Before completing your booking, please review the cancellation policy shown on the listing page. Common policy types include:

  • Flexible: Full refund up to 24 hours before the event.
  • Moderate: Full refund up to 72 hours before the event; 50% refund within 72 hours.
  • Strict: No refunds once the booking is confirmed.

The specific policy for your booking is always visible on the listing page and in your booking confirmation email.

Platform Cancellation

If SelamPass cancels a booking due to a platform issue, technical error, or policy violation by an organizer, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid, including any service fees.

Event Cancellation by Organizer

If an event organizer cancels their event, the organizer is responsible for ensuring attendees are refunded. SelamPass will facilitate the refund process on behalf of the organizer. In most cases, you will receive a full refund. If the organizer offers an alternative date or credit, you may choose to accept it or request a refund instead.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please:

  1. Email support@selampass.com with the subject line "Refund Request."
  2. Include your booking ID (format: SP-XXXXXXXX), which can be found in your confirmation email or on the My Bookings page.
  3. Provide a brief reason for the cancellation request.

We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within 1 business day.

Refund Timeline

Once a refund is approved, it will be processed within 5–10 business days. The refund will be returned to the original payment method used at checkout. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.

Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds are generally not available in the following situations:

  • No-shows: Failure to attend the event without prior cancellation.
  • Post-event requests: Refund requests submitted after the event has taken place, unless the experience was materially different from what was advertised.
  • Strict-policy events: Events with a strict cancellation policy where the cancellation window has passed.

Disputes

If you believe a refund was incorrectly denied or you have a dispute with an event organizer, SelamPass may mediate between you and the organizer at our discretion. We will review the circumstances and work toward a fair resolution. Our decision in such matters is final.
